Bristol Paintworks wedding photographer

Tina and Anwar’s wedding at the beginning of March was my first visit to the Paintworks in Bristol. Not your typical wedding venue and quite challenging at times (I even found myself dusting off the old flash a couple of times) it’s definitely one I would like to go back to. A few of my favourites from the day below.

Wedding Photojournalist Association contest win

The results for the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA) Q4 competition were announced last week and I’m pleased to say I had another 2 top 10 placements. The first image was taken at Amy and Paul’s wedding at Kingscote Barn in Gloucestershire back in August last year. It finished 7th in the ‘Kids being kids’ category.

JUDGES COMMENTS: Solid moment. Technically this was not an easy photograph to make, but the photographer handled it well. I like how the photographer shot from behind the pastries as opposed to behind the girls to show what they are staring at. Nice frame.

The second image was taken at Laura and Dan’s wedding at Castle Hill, Devon in October. (Incidentally, I am now a recommended Wedding Photographer at Castle Hill) and finished 9th in the ‘Toasting/Speeches’ category.

JUDGES COMMENTS: An easy picture to at first overlook. What a touching expression.

Bristol Mud Dock Wedding Photographer

I think one blog post in the last six months tells its own story of just how busy I’ve been recently – and that’s not counting a 10 week old baby! It was great to kick off 2011 in February with Carla and James’ intimate wedding in Bristol. They were married at Bristol Reigstry Office and then on to the Mud Dock Cafe for the reception with a quick boat trip around the harbour in between. Although I have never photographed a wedding there before, the Mud Dock is a venue I know well and provides a great backdrop with a slightly industrial twist! A few of my personal favourites from the day below.
